I have an Aspire R 15 (R5-571TG-7229) that almost always runs the fan on high speed when connecting to the laptop via RDP. The issue appears to be caused by Windows Explorer (Explorer.exe) running at approx 30% to 40% of the CPU resources. The odd thing is, it only occurs when connecting to the laptop via RDP. If I directly use the laptop, explorer.exe drops to a reasonable amount of CPU (2%-5%), and the fan remains silent. As soon as I initiate an RDP session to the laptop, explorer jumps to 30 to 40%, and the fan noise increases.
I've updated Windows 10 and Office 365 completely, and I also flashed the BIOS to v1.08 in case it was fixed via firmware. The update did not fix the issue. I also ran Windows System File Checker (sfc.exe /SCANNOW), and it found nothing wrong. I don't know what else to check. I don't even know if this is a hardware issue, or a problem with Windows 10. I have no other computers (4 desktops, 1 HTPC, 1 server, 3 laptops) that exhibit this behavior.
Thanks for your guidance and assistance.
