Hey 700ghz, it depends on your distro. It was easy with Arch, because there was a pre-compiled kernel in the official repository. But a few days ago Grsecurity decided to not provide their kernel patches free of charge any more, there's only a paid plan on their website. This laptop is a bad joke. Actually, I bought my Acer Swift with a pre-installed Linux (it was some kind of a 3rd party Fedora derivate, I think they call it "Acer Linux"). Did anyone try to update the firmware to the latest version?
Btw, here's Arch's announcement https://lists.archlinux.org/pipermail/arch-general/2017-April/043604.html
