VGA cable length varies since the lower the resolution needed, the longer the cable can be. With higher resolutions the output can degrade over longer cables. But since you are using an adapter to go from USB to VGA you might check with the vendor of the adapter you are using to see if they can provide you information on recommended cables lengths.
