Touchscreen goes black when screen is touched. Comes back on when touched again.

I have an Aspire R3-131T-C3PV, Windows 10, bought 4 months ago, little used. Everything functions fine... except that recently every time the touchscreen is touched it goes black. Touching the screen again brings it right back on. The display works fine when the touchpad is used or when a mouse is used.
