Hello!
Those people will also recommend you to buy some good laptops "DELL, preferabally" but problems with DELL is well known to all. Acer, I am using since last 6 years, is very good in performance and compatible to any version of windows or VMware. Regarding your question about charging, I recommend you to plug in whenever you work on your laptop and shut down or set default power profiles whenever you are away i.e. sleep mode. Every laptop comes with a battery saver program. So, no need to charge overnight or some hours. Batterylife decreases whenever you plug in for long time without using the energy saved. It is more like adding water even after the glass is full. Balance of energy is important i.e. input~output.
