I've had an Aspire S 13 for a week now and was enjoying the experience, at least, until today.
I opened my laptop this evening and the hinge covers suddenly snapped off and one of them flew right at my face and striked me in the left eye. 
Took some time to recover, now that I've recovered and am typing this article at the moment, someone please tell me what just happened. Was this a manufacturing defect? Did I do something wrong? As far as I recall, the laptop was usually always on my desk and barely traveled with it, despite it being an UltraBook. I open my laptop roughly twice to few times a day and I don't recall roughly opening it at all.
Does warrenty cover this, what do I do? I'm pretty disappointed obviously, a product I thought was great, just malfunctioning out of nowhere.
